Crux Fermentation Project
50 SW Division St,
Bend, OR 97702

One of my perennial favorites, Crux is solid from top to bottom. Better Off Red, their Flanders-Styled red is one of the handful of beers I have collaring so I can eventually do a vertical. Gimme Mo, is a must buy if you see the cans as well. The first time I walked in was hours before attending one of my cousins weddings – needless to say we looked out of place. If I were to design a brewery, it would be close to Crux. They have a large lawn next to the taproom with food and beer on tap. Inside, you can see the beautiful brewing equipment made from copper that is cleaned to a polish. This isn’t easy, think of the Statue of Liberty! Years ago the building was an old AAMCO building, but the only trace left over is the sign hung against the wall as a tribute to the past. The decorations inside are almost all recycled and reclaimed, but you would never know because it’s done so well. If you’re in Bend, this is my #1 recommendation, so please make it a stop!
